The U.S. Attorney’s Office, the FBI and the California Fair Political Practices Commission have all dropped investigations into boasts made on tape by former Assemblyman Mike Duvall (R-Orange County), who claimed to have had sexual relationships with lobbyists. An Orange County newspaper and other media reported that one of those lobbyists worked for Sempra Energy/SDG&E.  However the investigations apparently failed to substantiate the claims and concluded that no further inquiry was warranted.

Sempra energy issued a statement that the company “stands ready to cooperate fully with additional official inquiries, should any be initiated. The company does not tolerate the type of behavior alleged in the media reports.”

The company’s press release added, “Our employee has denied that she engaged in any inappropriate conduct in carrying out her responsibilities. Consistent with the outcome of the government investigations and Sempra Energy’s own investigation, we have closed our review of this personnel matter and reinstated our employee to active status.”
