March 7, 2016 (Lakeside) -- This Saturday, March 12th, will be the 11th annual It’s How We Live health and community fair at Lindo Lake Park in Lakeside. The event will start at 9 a.m., right after the Lakeside Unified School District’s Run For the Arts, a fundraiser for the District’s arts program.

San Diego County Park and Recreation Department is organizing the event to promote healthy resources that are available throughout the county to the entire family. There will be more than 30 vendors, kid’s zone, face painting, and health and dental screenings.

Health screenings and services are being provided by Neighborhood Healthcare, Healthy Adventures Foundation and California Health Network, and will include BMI, body composition, glucose, dental, fluoride, exams, free toothbrushes and toothpaste, and blood pressure.

There will be entertainment provided by The Lakeside Unified School District, a  Zumba performance, Ballet Folkloriko, Tumble Wee and Dance.

There will also be an opportunity drawing with prizes that include a two night stay at a county park, $50 gift certificates from Dick’s Sporting Goods, free buffets at Barona Casino, $25 at Big 5 Sporting Goods, Padre gear, and Balboa Park Museum tickets.

The event will be held rain or shine. If it rains, it will be held inside the Community Center. Parking for the event will be at the Community Center, Lindo Lake and Lindo Lake Elementary School.

There has been at average of 800-1200 people at previous events and there is something there for everyone.

The event runs until 12 p.m. and is free to the public.
