December 8, 2016 (San Diego) — Today, San Diego Registrar of Voters Michael Vu certified results in all races countywide.

East County saw flips in several key races from election night to the final tally.  Here are the outcomes in some of East County’s closest races:

Lemon Grove’s ballot measure to allow and regulate medical marijuana dispensaries passed despite trailing on election night.

Elena Adams surpassed Timothy Caruthers by just 124 votes, winning a seat on the Grossmont-Cuyamaca  Community College District.

Racquel Vasquez overtook and narrowly defeated fellow Councilmember George Gastil in the city’s mayoral race.

Louis Tejeda edged out Dan McMillan, who had taken the early lead, for a seat on the Helix Water District Board

Travis Lyon regained his lead over Lou Russo to win reelection to the Alpine Union School District.

All school bond measures in East County secured passage, despite some close early counts.
