LEAGUE OF WOMEN VOTERS HOSTS LUNCHEON ON CLIMATE CHANGE SEPT. 18

September7, 2014 (San Diego)—The San Diego League of Women Voters invites you to “Lunch with the League” on Thursday, September 18th at 11:30 a.m. at Tom Ham’s Lighthouse restaurant, 2150 Harbor Drive in San Diego.  The topic is “Climate change and its challenges.”

Participants include:

Timu Gallien, UCSD Chancellor’s fellow and post-doctoral scholar at Scripps Institute of Oceanography, on coastal flood risk including sea level rise, storm events and urbanization, 

Nicola Hedge, director of the San Diego Foundation’s Climate Initiative, on deepening community preparedness for the impacts of climate change, and

Kayla Race, policy advocate with the Environmental Health Coalition, on the politics of passing climate action plans.

Cary D. Lowe, a land use attorney and mediator with the National Conflict Resolution Center, will moderate the forum.

Sponsors include the Sierra Club, San Diego Coastkeepers, San Diego Foundation, San Diego 350, Equinox Center,  Stay Cool, C-3, and the League of Women Voters.
