February 24, 2014 (San Diego's East County) - On Tuesday, County Supervisors will consider acquiring land for a new Sheriff substation in Lakeside. That’s welcome news for Lakeside residents who complained of slow response times during a recent public meeting.

Members of La Mesa’s City Council will be asking for updates on a community garden as well as the Centennial legacy project at its meeting on Tuesday.

Also on Tuesday, El Cajon’s Council will hold a public hearing on delinquent trash collection charges as well as on a proposed conditional use permit for the  Magnolia Adult Day Health Center. Council will also hear a proposal for an El Cajon Veterans’ Memorial.

Santee’s City Council meets on Wednesday, February 26. A public hearing will be held to assess community development needs, and to allocate community development block grant and home Investment Partnerships Program funding.

Also on Wednesday, a new master plan for Santee Lakes will be on the agenda for Padre Dam Water District’s Park Committee.
