MAN ARRESTED FOR HARASSING TEEN GIRL IN RAMONA

May 17, 2010 (Ramona) – James Leo Flaherty III has been arrested for following and harassing a 17-year-old girl walking in the 300 block of 16th Street in Ramona. The victim reports that Flaherty drove past her, staring, on Tuesday May 11 and reportedly said, “I am not going to leave you alone.”

 

The victim told authorities that Flaherty had previously followed her and her sister within the past year, placing a pornographic magazine in front of them in the same area.

Deputy Mark Sherman and Detective Mike McNeill of the Ramona Sheriff’s Sub-Station conducted an investigation and identified Flahertyas the suspect. A warrant was issued and he was arrested on Friday, charged with annoying/molesting a child under 18 years old.

 

Authorities indicate that the suspect may have approached other minor victims. If you have information, have been a victim of Flaherty’s actions, contact Detective McNeil at 760-789-9157. Flaherty, 46, drives a black four-door sedan and is described as a white man, 6 feet tall, weighing about 200 pounds, with brown hair and green eyes.
