MAN SUFFERS HEAD INJURY FROM BEATING DURING ROBBERY IN LA MESA

July 27, 211 (La Mesa) – La Mesa Police seek witnesses to a violent assault which has left a 43-year-old man hospitalized with serious head injuries. The attack occurred Saturday, July 23rd around 1:55 a.m. in the 5500 hundred block of Jackson Drive, near Rigoberto’s Taco Shop.

 

Three suspects punched and kicked the victim and took his personal property, according to police. At the time, the victim only noticed minor injuries and declined medical treatment. On July 25, the victim began suffering from severe head pain and was transported by medics to Sharp Memorial Hospital. It was then discovered the victim was suffering from severe head trauma, requiring emergency surgery. He remains at the hospital in stable condition.

 

The suspects were described as two black male adults in their late teens or early 20s. One suspect was wearing a baseball cap and red shirt. There is no other information on the suspects. La Mesa Police are seeking any witnesses who might have been in the area of the taco shop on July 23rd, 2011, and might have seen the suspects.

Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 reward for anyone with information that leads to a felony arrest.
