December 11, 2011 (Descanso) – Firefighters have found a body inside a residence in the 24000 block of Los Terrinitos Road, after dousing a fire that engulfed the structure.  According to the San Diego Medical Examiner’s office, the deceased man is believed to be the 53-year-old resident of the home.

Firefighters from the San Diego Rural Fire Protection District responded to a 911 call at 8:35 a.m., arriving on scene at 8:43.  Crews tried to enter through the front door with hose lines to do a search and knock-down of the fire, but were driven back by heavy smoke and flames, said Captain Daryll Pina with Cal Fire.

“Once fire crews were able to make entry to the structure, a body was found in the front room,” Captain Pina said.

The fire was contained at 1025 to the structure with no reported injuries to fire crews.  The fire cause is under investigation by the San Diego County Sheriff's office, Bomb and Arson Division.

According to the Sheriff's office, foul play is not suspected at this time.  The occupant may have been using a portable propane heater, the Sheriff's office reports.
