October 12, 2016 (San Diego) - After just three years with the Padres, the team announced this morning that president and CEO Mike Dee is stepping down, MLB.com's A.J. Cassavell reports.

In a statement released today, the team announced that the decision was made by Padres executive chairman Ron Fowler and managing partner Peter Seidler.

Hired as president in July of 2013, Dee is responsible for the hirings of general manager A.J. Preller and manager Andy Green.  He previously worked for the Padres from 1995-2002 and with the Boston Red Sox from 2002-2009.  He then spent five years as president and CEO of the Miami Dolphins of the NFL before returning to San Diego.

Fowler said no successor has been named yet, but a search will begin "immediately."
