October 19, 2016 (San Diego) — As of October 18th, just over three percent of the nearly 1 million mail-in ballots countywide have been returned to the San Diego Registrar of Voters.  Nearly 42% of those ballots cast and returned are Democrats, or almost 5 percent above the registration rate.  About 35 percent are from Republicans, running at 3.5 percent above registration rate.

Another 23 percent are from independent voters, at a substantial 8.5 percent below their registration level.

Those figures were compiled based on County data by Mason Herron for the San Diego Rostra online political discussion forum for conservatives and Libertarians. See full results:  https://sdrostra.com/undesignated/san-diego-county-ballot-returns-e-21-days-2/
