MOTEL ROBBED IN LA MESA

October 11, 2014 (La Mesa)—A masked man armed with a handgun robbed the Motel 6 at 7621 Alvarado Road in La Mesa at gunpoint last night at 9:10, La Mesa Police report. The suspect remains at large.

According to police, the unknown suspect entered the front-desk lobby area and approached the clerk at the counter. The suspect displayed a black semi-auto handgun and demanded cash. After the clerk complied, the suspect fled on foot and was last seen running eastbound on Alvarado Road from the hotel.

Officers searched the area with assistance from the San Diego Sheriff Department’s ASTREA helicopter, but were unable to locate the suspect. The suspect is described as a black male adult in his 20s, approximately six feet tall with a thin build. He wore all black clothing including a black long-sleeved shirt, black pants, black shoes, a black baseball cap, black gloves, and a black mask covering his nose and mouth.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the La Mesa Police Department.
