June 27, 2011 (Borrego Springs) – A motorcyclist traveling eastbound on State Route 78 this morning in Borrego Springs crossed the center lane after entering a curve. He struck the driver’s side of a BMW traveling westward, then skidded across the roadway.
The driver of the BMW called 911. Although responding fire personnel initiated CPR, they were unable to revive the victim and he was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the San Diego Medical Examiner.
The deceased has not yet been identified pending next of kin, however the Medical Examiner’s office lists him as a married 64-year-old Caucasian man who lived in Riverside County. He was riding along and was wearing a helmet when the fatal accident occurred.
