MURDER CHARGES FILED IN POTRERO DEATH

February 12, 2016 (Potero) – Michael Walliser, 68, has been arrested and charged with murder of his neighbor, Ronald Drinkard. Drinkard was shot March 22nd at a residence on Coyote Holler in Potrero.

 

Walliser call 911 the evening of March 22 and stated he had just shot Drinkard, his neighbor. When deputies from the Sheriff's Rural Command arrived, they found Ronald Drinkard deceased on the porch in front of Michael Walliser's home.

 

Detectives from the Sheriff's Homicide Detail responded and began their investigation. Michael Walliser was arrested the night of the shooting and booked into the San Diego Central Jail on murder charges. Charges were not issued at that time and he was released.

 

An autopsy was performed by the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office. The cause of death was determined to be from multiple gunshot wounds and the manner of death was ruled a homicide.

 

On February 10, 2016, a warrant for the arrest of Michael Walliser on the murder charge was issued. On February 11th, 2016 at approximately 7:00 a.m., Michael Walliser was arrested for the outstanding warrant without incident. He was arrested at his home on Bartley Place in Escondido.
