MURDER: MAN FOUND DEAD ON I-8 WAS STRANGLED

August 27, 2016 (San Diego) — The Medical Examiner has concluded that a man found dead on Interstate 8 near the I-15 interchange on the morning of August 19th was strangled.  The victim, a 30 to 40-year old man, has not yet been identified.

Witnesses reported seeing him walking alongside the freeway westbound around 6:30 a.m., shortly before he was found dead.  San Diego Police are looking into a report of a white BMW sedan parked near the victim and a man standing beside it around the time the body was first seen, San Diego Police Detective Lt. Ray Valentin has indicated,10 News reports.

The victim also had trauma to the back of his head. The disturbing discovery shut down several lanes of I-8 west during rush hour traffic, prompting a SIG Alert.
