NAVY CORSPMAN CHARGED WITH MURDER OF ALPINE CHILD

January 16, 2016 (Alpine) – Brett Brown, 29, of Alpine has been charged with murder for the death of his girlfriend’s 19-month-old son, Lucas Orlando.

Sheriff’s deputies and firefighters responded to a call reporting the child had suffered severe trauma after a fall on January 11th at 2157 Arnold Way.  Deputies began CPR until paramedics arrived and the child was transported to Rady Children’s Hospital, where the boy died two days later of his injuries, said Lt. Kenneth Nelson.                                            

After an investigation, Brown was arrested and charged with murder and assault on a child with force likely to cause death. The Medical Examiner’s autopsy found the death to be blunt force trauma caused by homicide. Brown has been booked into the County Jail.
