October 28, 2016 (El Cajon) — The City of El Cajon is moving forward with plans for a new animal shelter.  A public hearing on a proposed conditional use permit for the new facility will be held by the city’s planning commission on Tuesday, November 1 at 7 p.m. in City Council Chambers (200 Civic Center Way, El Cajon).

The property is on the east side of North Marshall Avenue between West Bradley Avenue and Vernon Way.  A draft initial study and mitigated negative declaration has been prepared in compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act.

The facility is intended to replace the city’s aging and inadequate animal care facility. 

The agenda report will be available 72 hours before the meeting at http://cityofelcajon.us/your-government/calendar-meetings.list. Paper copies will NOT be available at the meeting.

The public is invited to participate in the hearing.
