July 19, 2016 (Cleveland) - Republican delegates formally nominated their frontrunner, millionaire businessman and reality TV star Donald Trump as their candidate for president at day two of the Republican National Convention at Quicken Loans Arena.

New York cast its final delegates for Trump just after 7:00 p.m. Eastern Time on Tuesday, making probably the most controversial Republican today the Republican Party nominee for president.

Indiana governor Mike Pence, who Trump has chosen as his vice presidential running mate, is expected to accept the party vote in a speech on Wednesday evening and Trump will do the same on Thursday.

The nomination comes despite controversy surrounding Trump's wife, Melania's speech last night.  Critics of Trump say certain parts of the speech were clearly copied word-for-word from a speech that current First Lady Michelle Obama gave at the Democratic National Convention in 2008.  Trump's campaign manager, Paul Manafort, called it "absurd" to think that Mrs. Trump had copied anyone's speech.

Speakers tonight included Donald Trump Jr. and Tiffany Trump, Trump's two children, U.F.C. president Dana White, Kentucky senator Mitch McConnell (R), House Speaker Paul Ryan, New Jersey governor and former presidential candidate Chris Christie (R) and former presidential candidate Ben Carson.
