August 11, 2016 (San Diego) - Chargers wide receiver Stevie Johnson will be out for the 2016 season after having surgery to repair a torn meniscus yesterday.

The procedure was successful, but Johnson was told that the recovery will take longer than expected--the entirety of the 2016 season.

Johnson suffered the injury during an early training camp incident.

The injury comes at a bad time for the 30-year-old, nine-year NFL veteran, who is no lock to return to the Chargers next offseason.
