May 22, 2017 (San Diego) - Construction crews will close the northbound State Route 15 (SR-15) connector ramp to eastbound and westbound Interstate 8 (I-8) on Sunday from 7 p.m. until 5 a.m. on Monday, according to Caltrans. The closure is needed for construction on the SR-15 Commuter Bikeway Project.

Motorists on southbound SR-15 will be to the westbound Friars Road off-ramp and then merge onto the I-8 on-ramp.

The following closures will also be in place each night Sunday through Thursday 7 p.m. to 5 a.m., on SR-15 between Adams Avenue and I-8:

  • Northbound on-ramp at Adams Avenue
  • Northbound off-ramp at Camino Del Rio South
  • One northbound lane on SR-15.

Travelers are urged to allow extra time to reach their destination or consider using alternate routes. The closures may affect San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) routes.  Please visit sdmts.com for detour information.

During construction, nearby residents can expect intermittent lights and noise during the evening and into the early morning. Crews will work to minimize impacts to nearby businesses, residents, and commuters. Construction schedules are subject to change.

Motorists are reminded to slow when highway workers are present with amber lights flashing and to Be Work Zone Alert.
