March 4, 2017 (Peoria, Ariz.) - Padres spring training continued with a game against the Diamondbacks. Jarred Cosart started on the mound for the Padres.

In the second, after a pickoff attempt to third, Daniel Descalso came home after the throw went into left field and Arizona took a 1-0 lead.  Nick Ahmed lined out to right and Ketel Marte scored and the snakes were up 2-0.

In the third, Descalso hit a ball through a hole to score another run and the score was 3-0 Dbacks.

The Padres finally tallied in their half of the third with Travis Jankowski’s triple that scored Jose Pirela and the score was 3-1.  Carlos Asuaje grounded out to score Jankowski and quickly, the score was 3-2.

The Dbacks got their lead back to two runs in the fourth with a single to make the score 4-2.

For once, the Padres made tying the game look effortless.  Pirela singled up the middle in the bottom half of the fourth to score two runs and tie the game at four.

Also for once, the Padres finally got a lead after tying the game.  Collin Cowgill skied a double to center in the fifth to score two runs and the Padres took a 6-4 lead.

The Dbacks came to within one in the eighth with Ildemaro Vargas’ double that scored Socrates Brito and the score was 6-5.  But the Padres held on to get a spring training win, 6-5.
