September 17, 2016 (Denver) - Hail is unsettling and can throw off a lot of things; traffic, the weather, even baseball teams as we saw last night.  Luckily, there would be no hail tonight as Edwin Jackson took the mound against Jon Gray in game two.

Turns out the Padres were still rocked by last night.  Nolan Arenado hit a two-run bomb in the first to give the home team a 2-0 lead right off the bat (pun intended).  That was followed by another two-run homer, this one from Tom Murphy, to give the Rockies a 4-0 lead.

Charlie Blackmon added another in the fourth with a triple that scored Daniel Descalso and the Rockies led 5-0.  Murphy knocked a long shot again, this time good for three runs and the Rockies led 8-0.  The Padres weren’t able to get a run in and were stunned once again, only this time, it ended in a shutout.

Tomorrow’s game three finale will be at 1:10 p.m.  Jarred Cosart will start against Chad Bettis.
