May 6, 2016 (San Diego) - Game two of Mets-Padres had a better pitching matchup:  Noah Syndergaard for New York against Drew Pomeranz for San Diego.

The Padres got started in the first with Matt Kemp’s sacrifice fly that scored Jon Jay and the Pads took a 1-0 lead.

In the fifth, Jon Jay looped it to center.  Coincidentally, Jemile Weeks was attempting to steal third, so he figured he’d just run home and the Padres took a 2-0 lead.  That was what they’d win the game with, but it was good enough.  Fernando Rodney gets his eighth save as a Friar and Drew Pomeranz goes to 3-3.

Yet another good pitching matchup tomorrow night at 5:40 with the legendary Bartolo Colon for New York and James Shields for San Diego.
