October 13, 2012 (Palomar) – The 2012 Apple Festival at Palomar Mountain State Park will take place October 21 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  Admission to the park is free courtesy of Friends of Palomar Mountain State Park and Cuyamaca Rancho State Park Interpretive Association. The park is located at 19952 State Park Rd., Palomar.

Delicious apple pies and other pastries as well as authentic hand-pressed apple cider will be available.  All made with apples from the Park’s orchard.  Hot chili, corn bread and ice cream will also be available.

The festival will include drawings for prizes and live folk music. The kids can enjoy arts and crafts, bobbing for apples and meet Coreopsis, the friendly goat.  Hand spinning and weaving demonstrations will be given.  A real- live, modern day Mountain Man will be on hand as well as other period re-enactors.  Guests are welcome to come dressed in 19th century homestead period attire.
