December 10, 2015 (El Cajon) - On Tuesday, a parole violator led a Sheriff's deputy on a wild chase through unincorporated El Cajon in a stolen vehicle.

The parolee, 27-year-old Raymundo Calderon, was driving a black Honda with no license plates when he made an incorrect lane change.  The deputy on the scene would later find that Calderon was driving a stolen vehicle, according to Sgt. David Hale with the San Diego Sheriff's Department.

The chase began on southbound 67 shortly at 8:50 a.m. Tuesday morning.  A deputy pulled Calderon over in the 1400 block of Graves Avenue in Bostonia after the illegal lane change, Hale explained.

When Calderon was asked to step out of the vehicle, he instead drove away, forcing the deputy to begin pursuit, Hale said.

Calderon crashed into another vehicle, which slid down an embankment.  Calderon then crashed into a parked truck on Greenfield Drive.  He then ran into an apartment complex in the 300 block of Greenfield Drive.  Calderon attempted to carjack a vehicle that had stopped in the street because of the collision, but was fended off by the owner of the car, according to Hale.

Calderon then climbed a fence leading to a mobile home park in the 400 block of Greenfield.  Canines, helicopters, detectives and patrols from the Sheriff's Department were all dispatched to establish a perimeter for Calderon.  He was taken into custody and was booked on felony evasion, possession of a stolen vehicle, hit-and-run and carjacking.  He was previously on parole for robbery.
