June 7, 2010 (San Diego) – San Diego Police have mounted a manhunt for a man who assaulted a 14-year-old girl this morning in Kensington. The girl was walking north on 41st Street near Monroe Avenue at 9:30 a.m. when a Hispanic man in his 30s with a goatee and a tattoo on his right forearm grabbed her, threw her to the ground and tried to rape her.

The man tore off the girl’s underpants, but ran away after she fought back and screamed. The San Diego Union-Tribune reports that a bystander chased the man, who is in his 30s, but could not catch him.
