HERE’S THE DOPE: DEA PRESCRIPTION DRUG TAKE-BACK DAY BRINGS IN 5.5 TONS OF DRUGS LOCALLY

May 10, 2017 (San Diego) --  he final tally is in from the 13th National Prescription Take-Back Day this past Saturday, April 29, 2017.  DEA and its partners took back prescription drugs at 40 locations in San Diego County and four locations in Imperial County.   Over the course of four hours, 10,914 pounds or almost 5.5 tons of drugs were turned into the locations in both counties.  San Diego Citizens turned in 10,443 pounds and Imperial County citizens turned in 471 pounds of prescription drugs.

April 16, 2017 (San Diego’s East County) – Each year, the U.S. Department of Justice and Drug Enforcement Agency holds a prescription drug take-back day to encourage residents to turn in unused prescription drugs and avoid having them fall into the wrong hands.  This year, the event will be held on April 29 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

August 29, 2015 (San Diego)--Saturday, September 26 is Prescription Drug Take-Back Day. You can drop off your unused prescription drugs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at locations throughout the county.  For a full list of locations in San Diego County including numerous East County sites, view the flyer.
