January 24, 2017 (Sacramento) — Governor Jerry Brown today issued an emergency declaration for San Diego County and 56 other California counties hard-hit by the recent winter storms.
Brown asked the state’s Office of Emergency Assistance to provide help to local governments in communities damaged by floods, mudslides, erosion, and damage to roads and highways.
The Governor also instructed Caltrans to ask for immediate assistance from the Federal Highway Administration’s Emergency Relief Program, though it’s unclear whether the Trump administration would grant the request for federal help.
