April 16, 2017 (El Cajon) – El Cajon residents will have the opportunity to provide input on draft district maps for City Council elections.  A community workshop will be held on Tuesday, April 18 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the El Cajon Police Station community room, 100 Civic Center Way in El Cajon for input from the public.

Spanish and Arabic translation services will be available.

With the passage of Measure S, the City is in the implementation phase of establishing City Council districts. The mapping criteria was approved by the City Council on February 14, 2017, and four community workshops were held in February and March.

March 27, 2017 was the first deadline for residents to submit district maps.  Maps were submitted by the public and were reviewed by National Demographics Corporation, the City’s demographic consultant.

You’re invited to review the maps, see how others envision the future of El Cajon, share your ideas and be part of the redistricting process.
