March 8, 2010 (Ramona) -- The Ramona Music Fest benefit concert is March 20, from 2 to 6 p.m., at Dos Picos Park, 17953 Dos Picos Park Rd. in Ramona. The third annual event hosted by Ramona Kiwanis and Ramona Rotary clubs will feature two stages and wandering musicians.
A variety of music is promised, from mellow rock to jazz, from ’50s rock to country, headlined by Cactus Twang & Whyte, whose music is reminiscent of Crosby, Stills & Nash.
Also appearing are Ted Lennon, teen singing sensation Aja Alycean, The Rumblers, The Amalgamated, and the Ramona Town Hall Brass Band, as well as wandering musicians. Auctions, children’s activities, food, beverages, wine and beer are also available, along with a reverse raffle, with a 50-inch, flat-panel plasma HDTV as the top prize. A raffle for a new $500 drum set will also be held.
Admission is $20 for adults, and $10 for ages 7 to 16. Children 6 and under, free. Ramona Music Fest is a fundraiser for the service clubs’ community projects and scholarships. For information and tickets, log on to ramonamusicfest.org or call 760-788-2889.
