May 24, 2015 (San Diego’s East County)—Rescue Task Force, a nonprofit which started in East County and is now headquartered in San Bernadino, is helping deliver relief supplies to survivors of two devastating earthquakes in Nepal.

Founder Gary Beck notes that a benefit of 28 years in service is having “a lot of friends and world-wide personal contacts.”  After the first major quake struck, a team of RTF volunteers in Thailand contacted RTF to ask for help, and the nonprofit responded.

Relief supplies are being collected primarily in Thailand and flown by the Thai Air Force to Nepal and staged at the Thai Embassy in Katmandu. Then they are delivered to urban and rural earthquake victims.

In a letter to supporters, Beck wrote, “From the Thai team: “Kop Khun Krab.” (Which means "thank you").
