August 28, 2014 (Borrego Springs)—The family of Mickey James Guidry is offering a $3,500 reward for information that leads to finding Mickey, who disappeared on November 27, 2009 when he was 16 years old.  Above are photos of what Mickey looked like back then, and a computer-aged photo of what he may look like today.

Mickey had camped with friends at the Mobiland RV Park at 5491 Split Mountain Road in Borrego Springs. The Jeep Grand Cherokee he was driving was found broken down and abandoned near Pinion Mountain.

Born on August 3, 1993, when last seen Mickey was 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighed about 155 pounds. He has brown hair and blue eyes, and he is white.

East County Magazine was the first to report on the disappearance of Mickey Guidry, who authorities initially believed had run away, so media was not initially notified and a search was delayed until weeks after the teen vanished in the Anza Borrego Desert that Thanksgiving weekend five years ago.

Since then, Sheriff’s Search and Rescue team members, community volunteers and Mickey’s family have searched exhaustively for him, and hope remains that he may have made it out of the remote location.
