September 9, 2016 (San Diego) - If it weren’t for a solo home run in the ninth, the Padres would’ve had their biggest shutout win in franchise history.  They looked to do it again tonight with Luis Perdomo on the mound against Tyler Chatwood.

The Padres started the slugfest again in the second.  Alex Dickerson hit a solo homer and the Friars led 1-0.

But the Rockies learned their lesson from last night.  In the third, Charlie Blackmon hit a two-run homer to give the Rockies a 2-1 lead.

Chatwood worked some pitcher magic in the seventh to score two and the Rockies went up 4-1.

Game three is tomorrow night at 5:40 p.m.  Jon Gray will start against Christian Friedrich.
