October 2, 2012 (San Diego’s East County)--Keller Williams Realty El Cajon will be a "Gold Sponsor" for the upcoming "Roy Richards Recovery Fund" golf tournament being held on Friday October 5 at the Carlton Oaks Golf Course in Santee. The office is helping to raise funds to help Richards recover from a life-threatening accident that resulted in a skull fracture with major brain injuries. He also suffered a broken rib and broken nose.
The community has rallied around Richards and his family to help them with the financial struggles they face as he goes through an intense rehabilitation process.
"This was such a tragic accident and Roy has been strong in fighting to survive," said Lisa Lozoya, Team Leader at Keller Williams El Cajon. "Roy's family has always been active here in the local community and we wanted to be part of the 'Pay It Forward' to support them."
She added, "We are also giving away a trip to Scottsdale, Arizona as a prize. The agents really embraced the opportunity to help out Roy and his family and we are proud to be a Gold sponsor for the golf tournament."
The day long affair starts at 11:30 a.m. with registration for the golf tournament followed by the shotgun scramble at 1:00 p.m. A "shotgun start" is a way of starting a golf tournament with all the golfers entered in that tournament beginning play at the same time. Prizes for the golf tournament include a putting contest, a Par 3 contest, awards for 1st and 2nd place and longest drive. A fashion show starring "Girls Fashionably Late" featuring "Volcom & Billabong" will start at 4:00 p.m. followed by a dinner and raffle at 6:30 p.m.
"Keller Williams El Cajon is involved with many organizations in the community and we have our annual Red Day in which we donate hours to help out locally," said Lozoya. "We like to be a positive influence in the local community."
