RURAL REFINED LAUNCHES “THE RURAL PROJECT” WITH $1,000 TOP PRIZE

The Rural Project launches its first quarter theme "Making a Difference in Rural America" on August 1.

August 14, 2012 (San Diego) – The Rural Project invites photos and essays that best capture the theme of “Making a Difference in Rural America”.  The top prize is $1,000 cash each Quarter.  The Rural Project is designed to bring light and attention to a segment of the population that often gets lost in the bigger city news.

Each Photo-Essay entry will consist of one photo image, along with a short essay describing how this person, group or organization is making a difference in their rural community or beyond. The essay must be at least 10 words in length and not to exceed 100 words. Complete contest rules and submitting procedure can be found at http://RuralRefined.com or on Facebook. 

These photo essays will mark just the beginning of The Rural Project, designed to bring light and attention to a segment of the population that often gets lost in the bigger city news. Each quarter will bring another theme for photo-essays and all entries will be showcased on RuralRefined.com and the Rural Refined Facebook page. Each quarter, there will be one (1) $1,000 Grand Prize Winner for best overall image and essay that best addresses that quarter’s theme, and have his/her entry highlighted and recognized on the site and Facebook among all of the entries.
