SAN DIEGO CONCERT BAND ANNOUNCES ITS SUMMER SEASON

June 6, 2017 (San Diego) – The San Diego Concert Band, based in East County, will host upcoming summer concerts at La Mesa’s Harry  Griffen Park, an Independence celebration at St. Dunstan’s Episcopal Church in San Carlos, and at the Organ Pavilion in Balboa Park.  Below are details:

06/11/2017 Sundays at Six (6 p.m.)

 The San Diego Concert Band is excited to kick off the 2017 “Sundays at Six” concert series at La Mesa’s beautiful Harry Griffen Park. The Band first played at the park in 1990 – when the trees were barely taller than the musicians! Building on our recent spring concert, “Around the World in 90 Minutes,” the Band continues to explore the music of other countries and the U. S. Join them at the Park – June 11 at 6 p.m. at Harry Griffen Park (9550 Milden St. behind Grossmont HS in La Mesa)

Our summer season of free concerts continues with these performances:

 07/02/2017 Independence Celebration (2 p.m.)

 The band has performed at the annual St. Dunstan’s Episcopal Church celebration of Independence Day, and the concert, at 2 p.m., is followed by an ice cream social. The public is welcome. 6556 Park Ridge Blvd. (near Patrick Henry HS) San Diego, CA

08/02/2017 Twilight in the Park (6:30 p.m.)

 This is another annual summer venue at the Organ Pavilion in Balboa Park. The band has played there since its inception.  It’s their season finale and you can expect some musical pyrotechnics!
