SDSU WOMEN'S SOCCER TO HOLD SPRING ID CAMP

January 22, 2019 (San Diego) - The San Diego State women's soccer program is set to conduct an ID camp Saturday and Sunday, March 2-3, on the SDSU campus.

The ID camp, which will be led by head coach Mike Friesen and assistant coach Chassion Griggs, is designed for players to get maximum exposure in front of the Aztec coaching staff and allows attendees an opportunity to receive valuable instruction on the fundamental and advanced skills of soccer, an introduction to the tactical elements of the game, as well as exposing campers to the mental aspect of soccer.

January 14, 2019 (San Diego) - San Diego State defender Aleks Berkolds (Northridge, Calif.) was selected in the third round (68th overall) by the Seattle Sounders in the MLS SuperDraft Monday morning.

“It feels amazing to have this opportunity with such a great club, and also knowing that all the sacrifice I put into this sport is paying off,” Berkolds said. “I’m going to work hard every day to show what I have to offer.”

November 9, 2018 (Los Angeles) - The Aztec men’s soccer team ended their 2018 season on a high note with a 1-0 shutout at UCLA Thursday evening. SDSU took the lead late in the first half on a Damian German penalty kick and then withstood a barrage of Bruin opportunities in the second half while playing with ten men to earn the victory.

November 1, 2018 (San Diego) - The Aztec men’s soccer team fell to No. 6 Stanford 2-0 at the SDSU Sports Deck Thursday evening. The Cardinal scored goals in the 48th and 72nd minute to give the Aztecs’ their third straight loss.

October 26, 2018 (San Diego) - The San Diego State women’s soccer season came to a close with a 3-1 loss to New Mexico Friday evening.

After falling behind early, the Aztecs tied the match in the 26th minute on a Taylor Moorehead goal, but the Lobos tacked on two more to earn the 3-1 victory. The Aztecs finish the year with a 6-10-3 overall record and a 4-4-3 mark in Mountain West play, good for eighth place.
