July 15, 2016 (Santee) - Detectives from the Sheriff's Child Abuse Unit arrested Santana High School Campus Supervisor/track coach Keith Silvia, 49, for engaging in sexual conduct with a female student.

Last month, the victim's parents found letters from an unknown person in their daughter's backpack.  Further inquiry by the parents revealed the letters were from Santana High School Campus Supervisor/Coach Keith Silvia. The victim's parents reported the incident to school administrators, who in turn reported it to the Sheriff's Department.  Detectives conducted an investigation and discovered Silvia fostered an intimate relationship with the victim and arranged more than one off campus meeting, where they engaged in inappropriate physical contact.

This morning Silvia voluntarily surrendered to detectives at the Sheriff's Santee Patrol Station.  Silvia was booked into the San Diego Central Jail for four misdemeanor counts of annoying/molesting a child under 18 years old and one felony count of arranging a meet with a minor for the purpose of engaging in lewd acts.

Inquiries about the nature of Silvia's employment should be directed to Katherine Martin of the Grossmont School District @ 619-644-8082 . Call Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477 with information and you will remain anonymous.  You may be eligible for up to a $1,000 reward for information leading to a felony arrest.
