August 24, 2015 (Scripps Ranch) – The Scripps Ranch Fire Safe Council will host a Wildfire Preparedness Forum September 26 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Marshall Middle School, 9700 Avenue of Nations in Scripps Ranch.

The flyer states, “We as a community experienced the devastation of wildland fires in 2003 where more than 200 homes were destroyed. Since then the city has changed some of its ordinances and regulations in an effort to make our community safer. The police and fire departments work not only closer together, but with Cal Fire and MCAS Miramar. How insurance companies sell insurance, assess risk and handle claims have also changed since 2003. This forum will hold three expert panels and a vendor fair to help residents be better prepared for not if, but when the next disaster occurs.”
