March 4, 2017 (San Diego) - San Diego State will be the sixth-seeded team at next week’s 2017 Mountain West Championship. The Aztecs will open the tournament against the No. 11 seed UNLV on Wednesday, March 8, at 4 p.m. PT inside the Runnin’ Rebels’ home, the Thomas & Mack Center.

The SDSU-UNLV contest will be the third of three first-round match-ups on Wednesday. All three will air live on the Mountain West Network.

The Aztecs swept the season series with the Runnin’ Rebels, defeating UNLV in Las Vegas, 64-51, and again in San Diego, 77-64. The two victories vs. UNLV ran SDSU’s series winning streak to 10 games.

San Diego State will meet the Runnin’ Rebels in the MW Championship for the 10th time. In the previous nine games, SDSU has posted a 7-2 record and won six in a row.
