SILENCE IS WORSE THAN VIOLENCE - YOUTH TOWN HALL MEETING MARCH 2

February 23, 2012 (San Diego) – On Friday, March 2, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. there will be a Youth Town Hall meeting with the theme of Silence is Worse than Violence held at Joe and Vi Jacobs Center, Celebration Hall, 404 Euclid Avenue in San Diego.  It will provide a safe place to address the challenges youth face, and to come together to create solutions that strengthen youth voice, leadership and community engagement.

 

The special guest will be Kevin Powell, activist, founding staff member of Vibe magazine and the author of the upcoming book, “Tupac Shakur – A Biography”. The event will also feature a diverse panel of dynamic youth from across southeastern San Diego.


There will be free giveaways and raffle prizes as well as entertainment provided by DJ and live performances by local youth artists.  Youth community service hours may be earned by attending.
