July 14, 2022 (San Diego) - Maintenance crews will close northbound State Route 188 (SR-188) from the U.S./Mexico Border to State Route 94 (SR-94) Sunday 7 p.m. through Monday 5 a.m. for pavement work, according to Caltrans.

CHP INVESTIGATES SHOOTINGS ON I-805 AND SR-94

August 31, 2021 (San Diego) – The California Highway Patrol is asking for witnesses to two freeway shootings early this morning by a shooter in a black four-door sedan who remains at large. The shootings injured two motorists.

The first shooting occurred around 2:14 a.m. on north I-805 in Imperial Avenue; the second occurred about 11 minutes later on east State Route 94 east of College Grove Way near Lemon Grove.

FULL FREEWAY CLOSURES OF STATE ROUTE 94 IN SPRING VALLEY

June 11, 2021 (Spring Valley) -- Caltrans announces full nighttime closures on State Route 94 (SR-94) in Spring Valley Sunday to Wednesday and lane closures on Thursday from 10 until 5 in the morning. The closures are needed so that crews can safely complete pavement work, drainage improvements and Americans-with-Disabilities-Act- compliant curb ramp upgrades.

May 13, 2021 (San Diego) -- This week, Governor Gavin Newsom announced a $1.5 billion investment over the next three years for litter collection, community engagement and support of local artists to beautify California’s highways and main streets. His announcement comes as Caltrans crews prepare for the third consecutive closure and cleanup along State Route 94 (SR-94) this weekend. These efforts are consistent with the goals in Governor Newsom's California Comeback Plan to clean California.

CURVE REALIGNMENT ON HIGHWAY 94 IN DULZURA NEARS COMPLETION

February 15, 2020 (Dulzura) – “I am happy to report that work on the State Route 94 (SR-94) Curve Realignment Project in Dulzura is nearing completion and is expected to be finished by the end of March,” says Cathryne Bruce-Johnson, public information officer for Caltrans in San Diego County. 
 
Construction activities will typically continue Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and will require reducing SR-94 to one lane as needed so that crews can safely work on the closed side of the road. Motorists may be delayed for short periods as they are directed through the single open lane one direction at a time.

October 26, 2017 (San Diego) - Maintenance crews will close the northbound State Route 15 (SR-15) connector to westbound State Route 94 (SR-94), Saturday from 3-11 a.m. for drainage cleaning, according to Caltrans.

BLUE CHEVY SILVERADO SOUGHT IN FREEWAY SHOOTING

April 26, 2017 (San Diego) – The California Highway Patrol seeks witnesses to a shooting last night at 9:25 p.m. on the ramp from Interstate 805 southbound to State Route 94 eastbound.  Several shots were fired, striking a vehicle several times though fortunately no one was injured.
