August 10, 2016 (San Diego’s East County) – Yesterday, Steven Guider, 52, was arrested in the 8200 block of Winter Gardens Blvd. in unincorporated El Cajon. Guider posted $2,000 worth of construction equipment on Craigslist that had recently been stolen from a vehicle burglary in Santee.

Santee Detectives contacted Guider and arranged an undercover buy of the stolen property, says Detective Doug Roysdon. Steven met with Detectives posing as construction workers and was taken into custody with the stolen property. Detectives conducted a follow-up search of the suspect’s home in the 12500 block of Royal Rd.

Detectives located and recovered an additional $1,000 of stolen construction equipment belonging to the same victim. A stolen motorcycle worth $4,000 was also recovered at Guider's residence. Guider and two additional adult males were taken into custody and booked into county jail for possession of stolen property and various narcotic related charges.

The investigation is still ongoing. Any inquires can be made to Detective Doug Roysdon at 619 956-4053.

I'm Shocked

East county meth users have stolen property?

These cops stole my stuff and I was innocent!

When the police arrested me for this, I explained to them that I paid $500 and I still owed the guy I got it from $60 and we could call him and they would have the guy that was the thief. I also informed them that it came with another piece of equipment and they should go to my house to get it. Detective Roydson said he would go to my house and just pick it up. I agreed and off he went. When he and 15 police cars got there, they terrorized my family and even went as far as to have my elderly mother up against the wall searching her. She's 72 years old and a former police officer and probation officer. When they ran the numbers on my motorcycle it came back as a stolen motor which I purchased off Craigslist. I built this motorcycle from nuts and bolts and had no idea about the motor being stolen. Then detective Roydson proceeded to ran sack my entire shop and took all of my tools I use for work leaving me devastated. They loaded up 7-10 thousand dollars worth of tools and will not give them back. Non of which were stolen! The DA gave me a 7 days time served deal. Think about it 7 days for what should have been years for a guilty person. I was innocent and they knew it! As far as my friends who were taken in on various charges, they were arrested for minor traffic violations. Who's the real criminal? The sheriff department came to my home and took my lively hood, harassed my elderly mother (whom I take care of) and refused to go after the real thief that I got the camera from, even after I explained that he would come right to them. It's a travesty at how I was treated and the police are more corrupt than the criminals. Thank you detective for your professionalism and true dedication to the truth! What a bunch of hog wash. There is nothing about the truth when it comes to the sheriff department. It's all about intimidating people and the short man complex. You have no business wearing a badge.

Are these 3 special needs people? I'm confused?

I'd like to thank the local police department for all their hard work. But I would also like to ask a question. Between 3 people why couldn't at least one figure out that posting a bunch of stolen construction equipment taken very recently from Santee on Craigslist was a stupid idea? The way I see it is either they have a collective IQ of 78 points between them or Steven didn't know that he was selling stolen anything. I find it hard to believe that someone who has the savoy to place a ad on craigslist, couldn't derive at the conclusion that this would be a E ticket ride to county jail. Just trying to make sense of something that's left me scratching my head. Also the other two people Refered to what we're their charges? Fishing without a license or something stupid? Inquiring minds want to know. One more thing the police have been tossing their power around with out much consequences as of late and it's time for "To protect and serve!" To be the main focus not to oppress intimidate and control the public. It's time to have our police work for us not take from us. It's curupt and if you open your eyes it's as clear as day. The people need to dictate the rules or its just like the predictions of the novel 1984.
