September 17, 2014 (Alpine) – Sheriff’s deputies are searching for a man who reportedly tried to lure a 12-year-old Alpine girl into his grey car as she walked home from the Alpine Youth Center with her little brother in the 2000 block of Arnold Way today, NBC San Diego reports. The girl’s mother told the Alpine Community Network that the man asked, “Where is your mother? Come here,” then sped off when a neighbor confronted him.
According to the ACN, the victim’s mother advised that a man resembling the suspect has been seen by neighbors driving very slowly and suspicious. She provided the following description of the suspect and vehicle gathered from neighbors and kids in the area:
- OLDER MODEL MATTE GREY CAR (almost looks like it is a primer or spray paint)
ROOF OF CAR IS A DARKER SHADE OF GREY
MAY HAVE A CRACKED WINDSHIELD
MIDDLE AGED WHITE MALE about 35 – 40
LIGHT SCRUFF/STUBBLE ON FACE
VERY THIN ARMS
WEARING A RED HAT
FULLY SLEEVED TATTOOED
LOOKED VERY NERVOUS AND SKETCHY, APPEARED TO BE ON DRUGS
Alpine Sheriff has asked that if anyone sees this vehicle call 911 IMMEDIATELY and report that a suspicious vehicle that has already been previously reported has been spotted. Also please try to get a plate number.
