April 11, 2011 (Ramona)--A dusting of snow in many places over Ramona Friday night gave way to a bright sunny Saturday, fine weather for the fourth annual, Rotary-Kiwanas Music Fest in beautiful Dos Picos Park.

It was a perfect setting to enjoy a sampling of San Diego County’s finest musical talent featuring Cactus Twang &Whyte, Aja Alycean, The Gilbert Castellanos New Latin Quintet, Baja Blues Boys, Brandon Burrill, Emily Grace Rajcic, Jason Winters, the Filthy Violets, Sage, Grand Canyon Sundown, Ramona Town Hall Brass Band, Sherm the Band, RHS Royal Blues Jazz Band, as well as Henry and the Seacreatures.

The crowd enjoyed tasty BBQ fare as they listened, courtesy of Sparkletts. Concert-goers were also treated to live and silent auction bargains on many goods and services including guitars, mountain bikes, theater tickets, even rounds of golf and a year’s trash service. A fun, relaxing spring afternoon was enjoyed by all who attended and supported this premier local event.

If you missed this year’s Ramona Music Fest, you can catch it next year, Ramona Music Fest 2012. Ramona Kiwanis and Ramona Rotary organize this annual event, with support from the Ramona Chamber of Commerce and the many local donors and supporters. Net proceeds from Ramona Music Fest go to benefit local events, activities, and Ramona Union School District student scholarships.
