August 14, 2019 (San Diego) -  Cindy Marten, the superintendent of city schools, will address a dessert reception of the Tifereth Israel Synagogue Men’s Club at 7 p.m., Sunday, August 18.

The public is invited to attend Marten’s talk in which she has been asked to discuss security at the city’s schools as well as any recent educational innovations.

September 19, 2014 (San Diego)—You won’t be seeing an armored vehicle on San Diego Unified School District campuses after all. The District has decided to return a Mine Resistant  Ambush Protected Vehicle, or MRAP, that had been donated by the U.S. Department of Defense.
