July 24, 2016 (Campo) – Last week, County Supervisors voted to convey 247 acres in Campo to several nonprofit organizations, including Mountain Health and the Pacific Southwest Museum, to expand historical, civic and educational opportunities for rural residents and visitors.

Community leaders will spend the next couple of years developing a detailed plan for the land, which includes historic Camp Lockett.

Supervisor Dianne Jacob called the action “great news for our backcountry” on her Facebook page, adding, “This is an awesome opportunity for our community and I look forward to seeing the many possibilities become a reality!”
