SUSPECT ARRESTED FOR MURDER OF BRIAN HAMMETT IN SPRING VALLEY

July 1, 2012 (Spring Valley ) --  Arren William Dangler, 29, has been arrested for the murder of Brian Hammett, 29. Hammett was found lying in a driveway with multiple wounds on June 15 around 12:30 a.m. in the 8600 block of Troy Street in Spring Valley. He was taken to a local hospital, where he died shortly before 2 a.m.
 
Investigators from the San Diego Regional Fugitive Task Force had been searching for Dangler to arrest him on a warrant for a home invasion robbery which occurred in the Bay Ho area of San Diego on May 30.They located and arrested him at 10th & E Street in downtown San Diego this afternoon.
 
“Sheriff's Homicide detectives had also been seeking to interview Dangler regarding any knowledge he may have about the murder of Brian Hammett,” said Sheriff’s Homicide Lieutenant Larry Nesbit. After “Homicide detectives responded and interviewed Dangler. Based on this interview, Dangler was arrested for the murder of Brian Hammett. “
 
The suspect was subsequently booked into the San Diego Central Jail on one count of murder and the warrant for the home invasion robbery. As this investigation is ongoing, no further information will be released at this time.
