SUSPECT SOUGHT IN LA MESA BANK ROBBERY AT ALBERTSON’S

July 3, 2015 (La Mesa) - The FBI and La Mesa Police Department are seeking the public’s assistance to identify the suspect responsible for robbing the U.S. Bank, located inside of the Albertsons grocery store located at 8920 Fletcher Parkway, La Mesa, California, on Thursday, July 2 at 10:07 a.m.

The robber approached the teller’s window and sat down in a chair in front of the teller’s window. He then slid a plain white envelope sealed with tape, with writing on the back of the envelope. The robber made a verbal demand for money and instructed the teller how to hand him the money. The teller complied with the demand and provided the robber with a sum of money.

After receiving a sum of money the robber exited the grocery store and was last seen leaving the area in a blue SUV. No weapon was observed and no injuries reported.

Witnesses described the robber as a white man in his early 30s, about 5 feet 4 inches tall, weight 110 pounds, with freckles. He wore a white, long-sleeved collared shirt, black skinny tie, black pants and dark sunglasses.
