READERS' EDITORIAL: SANTEE-BASED GUNS POLITICAL ACTION COMMITTEE EXAMINES GUNS RIGHTS UNDER PRESIDENT TRUMP

February 14, 2017 (San Diego’s East County) – Second Amendment supporters in East County are looking forward to a Trump administration. Although the most problematic gun laws restricting our Second Amendment rights originate in Sacramento, there is optimism in the gunfight at the federal level.

APPEALS COURT: NO RIGHT TO CARRY A CONCEALED WEAPON

Today, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, issued a decision in the case of Peruta v. County of San Diego, et al.

This case involved applicants who were denied licenses to obtain concealed carry permits. The applicants were denied for failing to establish "good cause," as required under California law. The applicants sued alleging that the "good cause" requirement violated their Second Amendment rights. The matter was eventually argued before an en banc panel of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.

ASSEMBLYMAN JONES HOSTS 2ND AMENDMENT & FIREARMS SAFETY EVENT SEPT. 23 IN LEMON GROVE

 

September 21, 2011 (Alpine) Assemblyman Brian Jones, Republican representing the 77th district, will host an event dedicated to “spreading awareness about the Second Amendment and firearm safety,” according to a release issued by his office. The event is slated for Friday, Sept. 23 from 1-5 p.m. at the Lemon Grove Rod & Gun Club, 16232 Sequan Truck Trail in Alpine.

 
Included will be a statement from the Assembly Member, a brief question and answer session, followed by an opportunity for participants to shoot firearms. Novices will be able to receive certified instruction. Lunch will be provided for a low price.
