May 10, 2012 (San Diego) -- On May 18, 2012, legendary HIV/AIDS advocate, civil rights activist, author and columnist Terry Angel Mason will be a guest speaker at the San Diego Neighborhood House Association, located at 841 South, 41st Street, San Diego, CA 92114. The special event will take place at 1:30 pm, and will include a discussion about HIV/AIDS prevention and book signing by the famed author.

PROGRESS MADE IN ALPINE VEHICLE BREAK-INS

 
February 25, 2012 (Alpine) – A series of vehicle break-ins has occurred recently in the Alpine area. “In the past two weeks, we caught two of the bad guys, linking them to Alpine area vehicle burglaries,” reports Paula H. Dickenson, USN retired, crime prevention specialist at the Alpine Sheriff Substation. But she said public help is needed, since vehicle burglaries continue to take place.

It Doesn’t Take a Fire to Burn a Child

 
February 8, 2012 (San Diego) -- Across California thousands of people are burned every year in fires and countless lives are lost, including young children. During the week of February 5 – 11, 2012, CAL FIRE is teaming up with fire departments across the country to highlight the fire risks and burn injury prevention during the winter months for National Burn Awareness Week. This year fire officials are focusing on the increased risk to children for burn injuries and offer safety tips to keep them protected from burn injuries.
